The Reserve Bank of India [RBI]


Capital markets and securities transactions are regulated by the Capital Markets division of the Department of Economic Affairs.


2.02: The Indian Financial system is regulated and supervised by two government agencies under the Ministry of Finance - They are:
               (a) The Reserve Bank of India [RBI] and
               (b) The Securities Exchange Board of India [SEBI]


All parts of the financial system are interconnected with one another and the jurisdictions of the RBI and the SEBI overlap in many fields.
